On these grounds, we are delighted to announce our latest recognition:
In a first for the company and following years of working intensively with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model, we achieved one of the highest levels of recognition – Recognised for Excellence 4 stars – in the 2017 Ludwig-Erhard Awards, which are sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
We have been applying the excellence model for eight years now and, in doing so, have secured and consolidated our leading position as an innovative supplier of pharmaceutical products. Following our win in the trade category of the Exportpreis Bayern in 2012 and our attainment of first place in the 2015 Deutschlands Kundenchampion competition (for companies employing up to 49 staff), this latest award marks another key milestone for our company on our path to achieving corporate management excellence.

The prize is awarded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, the Bavarian chamber of commerce and in collaboration with Bayern International. To honor the Bavarian Export Prize’s ten-year anniversary, four particularly successful companies from the decade’s 40 winners have been featured in this anniversary film. A jury consisting of business people from private enterprise selected the companies. ilapo received the prize in 2012 and has continued on its growth course ever since. (Munich). For the eighth year in a row, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Qualität e.V. (DGQ) and the market researcher forum! Marktforschung GmbH have presented the winners of the Deutschlands Kundenchampions (Germany’s Customer Champions) award. This year, the Munich-based company ilapo Internationale Ludwigs-Arzneimittel GmbH received the highest honor in the “company with up to 49 employees” category. Second and third place went to Evenord Bank and zur Rose pharmacy respectively. Winning this award proves that when it comes to customer satisfaction, ilapo plays in the same league as corporations like Miele, BMW or Apple. The jury scientifically analyzed and compared the quality of customer relations at 150 German companies throughout the country and across industries. ilapo received the best rating for the friendliness and expertise of its staff as well as for how it advises customers.)

According to the award organizers, Germany’s Customer Champions have a particularly high proportion of “fans.” These are customers who are not just very satisfied, they also have an emotional connection to the company. They act as ambassadors and double the effect of advertising. Winners of the award are particularly good at achieving this kind of customer loyalty. An ideal mix of excellent performance and first-class image turns the company’s customers into fans.
Satisfied customers and motivated employs guarantee business success
“This award affirms our business ethos. After all, there’s a reason why we now have some 7,000 customers! That represents around a third of the entire pharmacies market in Germany. And in other European and Arab countries and overseas, we were able to strengthen and expand our customer base with first-class service in recent years,” says Sabine Fuchsberger-Paukert, managing director at ilapo. Meanwhile Jennifer Feische and Brigitte Gollmitzer, division managers for pharmaceutical imports, are proud and enthusiastic about their team, which has contact with hundreds of customers each day, and which has now been recognized for the friendliness, expertise and reliability of the staff. Customers are also exceptionally pleased with the quality of advice from ilapo and how well the company meets delivery times. “Our customers rated us with a total satisfaction rate of 95.1% in this year’s customer survey. We’ve centered our whole organization around our customers and focus on their needs,” says Fuchsberger-Paukert. Receiving the 2015 award was further confirmation of ilapo’s successful approach to business in the last few years. In 2012, the company also captured the Bavarian Export Prize in the “trade” category.
“Yes, we can get you that” – supplying customers and patients in more than 50 countries
Eliminating bottlenecks for pharmaceutical products is one of the Munich company’s specialties, and ilapo is now one of the market leaders for it in Germany. Formerly known as the Internationale Ludwigs-Apotheke, the pharmaceutical wholesale specialist is now known simply as ilapo. For more than 50 years, it has been supplying German and international customers with pharmaceuticals that are either not or not yet available in their specific country. This has given patients around the world access to hard-to-get vaccines or cancer medications that cannot be obtained via standard care. ilapo’s 35 highly specialized employees and pharmaceutical experts manage imports and exports and supply patients in more than 50 countries with almost half a million pharmaceutical products each year.
Transparent, fast and safe delivery routes
For dependable processing of pharmaceutical special orders, ilapo follows the EU’s guidelines on good distribution practice of medicinal products for human use. Foreign medicinal products are checked according to all regulations and imported directly from their country of origin without any intermediate stops. Quick processing, transparent delivery routes and the safety of the medicinal product are ilapo’s trademarks. In addition to their specialist pharmaceutical knowledge, employees have also mastered a complex system of international databases. The internal database alone includes 150,000 preparations that customers can rely on when they have emergency requests, which take the highest priority.

Background on import of individual products
The international import of individual medicinal products is intended to complement health care. Every pharmacy in Germany may place individual orders for medicinal products that are not regularly available. These products are imported in accordance with § 73.3 of Germany’s pharmaceutical legislation. In the event of a supply gap, pharmacies may obtain substitute products individually via an importer. Health insurers decide case by case whether to assume the cost.
